The ‘concentrating shot’
You may notice that in many of my shots I’m kneeling or crouching to bring the camera down to the height of children and that’s simply to bring the viewer down to the same level as the subject.
Adults often stay standing when taking photos of children and then don’t understand why there’s less connection with the people they’re photographing.
The blurred foreground adds to this as this is what the eye would naturally do. Same with the blurred background.
The lighting is lovely in this classroom and the composition is a perfect ‘rule of thirds’ example.
